Green
After a hot summer we finally had a few days of continuous rain and the green is back...
with wonderfully fresh air.
And in nearby Rammenau there was the "International Linen Days" in the castle and castle park. In earlier days, this region had large fields of flax and countless looms for making linen cloth.
handirafts - music - market bustle
just beautiful ... look at it ...
Would you like to take look at the castle?
Vil du se inn i slottet?
Happy week to all bloggers.
Hug Viola
I am sure that the rain was very welcome to cool things down and reinvigorate the landscape. We got quite a storm here last night - steady rain would have been much better. Take good care, Viola.
Yay for rain! The earth needed it for sure. I love the castle and especially the market. The crafts people do beautiful work!
AntwortenLöschenThank you for the virtual tour and the linen weaving and spinning!
Carin
Glad to hear you got that much needed rain.
AntwortenLöschenWhat a gorgeous castle.
Thank you for taking us along, Viola - that was very interesting!
AntwortenLöschenThe festival in honour of Linen Days looks so interesting. I would love to walk around and admire all the lovely displays. That's a lovely castle. I don't remember if you ever mentioned it before.
AntwortenLöschenWow! What a place to see, wonderful and I do love black cats. Gorgeous photos.

A celebration of linen, how lovely. It looks like there were lots of beautiful things on display and many talented craft people. Thank you for showing us around the castle. Have a great week Viola x
Mariette
What a fun event that would be. I once visited a small museum where they explained all the steps in creating linen cloth from flax. It's a long process!
AntwortenLöschenThe castle would be wonderful explore. I'm glad you had some rain and the plants are green again. We need some here now.
We have been getting some rain also. After such a long drought, it's been welcomed. Thanks for the castle tour.
AntwortenLöschenLove to visit market bustle like that and especially listen to the live music they play.
AntwortenLöschenInternational Linen Days looks like a lot of fun and what a fabulous setting. I'm glad you gave us a peek into the castle. It is beautiful. So nice that you got some rain. It really does wonders for greening things ups.
AntwortenLöschenThankyou for sharing the pics.... What an amazing building......
AntwortenLöschenHärliga hantverk & härliga slott gillas alltid :) Vilken fin dag du fick...kul!
AntwortenLöschenKram från Titti
For et fantastisk flott slott! Og lin er deilig! Jeg har nettopp kjøpt meg ei linbukse. Veldig behagelig.
AntwortenLöschenLovely to see your photographs.
AntwortenLöschenThe festival looks very interesting.
Happy September Wishes.
All the best Jan
Så mange flotte bilder, morsomt å se!
AntwortenLöschenSå herlig at dere endelig fikk regn! Klem
AntwortenLöschenWhat a wonderful tour you gave to us and how lovely everything is to look at!
AntwortenLöschenlovely, lovely, photos and a wonderful tour!
Tusen takk for flotte bilder.
AntwortenLöschenWhat a beautiful castle! I would love to stroll through that street fair:)
AntwortenLöschenSuch beautiful castle and interesting happening. I still have some linens and towels woven my my mother - thin linen with Karelian decorative motives in red and black. Hugs.
