and i really like it especially the possibility that i can purchase it and craft something of my choice... ahhh...
... twice a year there is this fabric market in the city Dresden/Deutschland with about 120 stalls... fabrics and everything you need for sewing.
I've recently started sewing clothes and bags and you can imagine how wonderful it is for me to be at a market like this, especially since you meet a lot of like-minded people... it's a wonderful atmosphere and everyone dreams of making something beautiful ...
Since the market in the city center is under construction,
"my" market was now held in a smaller park... a row of 30 stalls!!! right and 30 more booths!!! left, i.e. you walk through the stands in the middle. Royal! Don't want to succumb to temptation! --- unfortunately there are no cafes there like in the center --- so I brought a mini picnic... so after 60 traders the first coffee from my small thermos flask, I need that too :-) was a treat.
an excellent coffee trolley and next to it a sausage stand with a long line... guess who was in line... unfortunately my husband wasn't with me... well, I knew that... that's why I brought my favorite thermos with me
...my last coffee in the Large Garden next door.
Before heading home, I ate this wonderful Italian bread at the train station...
...it is fabulous to see the earth coming back to life. I love fabric and I have some wonderful Asian prints that I want to have made into a quilt. Enjoy the colors that surround you, Viola.
I love buttons and used to play with my Grandmother's collection of them. I used to sew fabric teddy bears from colorful material, that is what I would do!
Have fun with your beautiful, new fabrics. What a great day you had. I once went to a fabrc market in Venlo, there was so much, it was amazing! Have a great week, hugs, Valerie
This looks like so much fun! The bread caught my eye, it looks really good. I don't know what I would do with the cloth but I think you will come up with some good ideas.
What beauty you found in the fabric collection you gathered. My wife would have a great time just looking and thinking about what she would make. The first thought I had about the red and white fabric was it would make a great bag. Have fun creating, Viola.
How fun, I have never heard of a fabric market here in the States-that would be so fun to browse through the different shops. I love buttons too and have a large collection of them I should decided how to use these or sell they are mostly vintage. Loving your choices, and good idea to bring your own coffee and snacks-hugs
It looks like you had a wonderful time...oh, bread is my weakness! Looking forward to seeing what you create from the fabric...so many possibilities. Thanks again for stopping by to visit my blog from so far away! Mary, Windy Meadows Farm, USA
Hi Viola ,what a wonderful market ,you bought many beautiful fabrics ,can’t wait to see what you make,it is a lovely spot to have a market ,so much fun, hope you have a lovely day my friend 🌹🤍🌹
😉 Ich mußte schmunzeln mit: in the city of Dresden/Deutschland stat Dresden/Germany...
What a lovely day you had, in paradise with all that material around. Love the pieces of fabric you purchased. The flowers and scenery are wonderful too.
Wow, that market must have been heaven! I'm loving your purchases, and can't wait to see what you'll be creating with them! Sensible idea to take a picnic, which is what I always do when I'm visiting outdoor flea markets! xxx
A fabric market would be a wonderful event! All your choices are beautiful and you are probably very inspired. Summer dresses and blouses perhaps, and I wonder what you will make with the airplane print fabric. Taking a thermos of coffee is such a great idea.
Oh, I really love these kind of markets and I allways buy stuff without any idea I could need it. What I also love is this italian bread - yummmmie! Happy days my friend, Elisabeth
Very beautiful and very colorful, what a joy to see everything so green and the spring radiant, around here the drought is serious. Happy weekend. A hug.
Veldig trist. Alt godt ønskes av Tove
The Dresden fabric market looks wonderful and I know you will make some lovely items from the materials that you bought there. A coffee break is always good.

AntwortenLöschenWhat a fun day at the market. Your choices are beautiful.
AntwortenLöschenThis is a very nice market! You have chosen best pieces! I see your leaves are more green than the leaves here in the Bavarian Forest.
It must have been so hard to choose. Sounds like a great way to spend a day ( and some money!!)
