Carnival – Olympic Games – Snow Fun – Sewing
When the children were small, Carnival was very important to me and I often sewed the Carnival costumes myself... it was wonderful... and I enjoy watching the Carnival festivities today.
Just like at the Olympics, you shouldn't let bad news get you down – just like in life in general. There are wonderful competitions, and it's exciting to see what the athletes are capable of.
It's snowing again and I hope I can go skiing through the forest today... I'm looking forward to it.

Of course, skiing is even more beautiful under a bright blue sky, but I'm glad there's snow at all... and it's always beautiful outside.
I'm creating new blocks, what can I say? It's going to be a new quilt :-)))
And... I repaired these mittens, which I knitted many years ago with Ingunn from the blog "Bundigen" (see the blog list next to this text).

I just love your mittens! So fun and happy. And you have beautiful winter scenes. 'm inclined to think there are no "losers" in the Olympics when some of the scores can vary by only a hundredth or two of a point. Just getting there is spectacular!

AntwortenLöschenDear Viola, when I was still working at a school, the children sometimes waited for the carnival and dressed up, but later they waited for Santa Claus more, because he also brought chocolates. Such is life!:)
AntwortenLöschenI didn't watch the Winter Olympics. I watched figure skating a long time ago, and as I read now, it was worth watching, because there were successes and there were "tragedies". A copy of life!

Enjoy the winter festivities, Viola. No carnivals here, however, Chinese New Year was celebrated here yesterday, with dragon dance etc in China Town in the capital. Love your bird photos, we have those birds in Norway too. Love your mittens! Looking forward to see progress on your new quilt. I have yet to make the cake. We ended up with too much chocolate for VDay! lol

Wir haben an der Deutschen Schule immer Fasching gefeiert mit den Kindern, das hat Spaß gemacht und die Kinder fanden es einfach klasse, sich außerhalb von Halloween verkleiden zu können. Olympia gucken wir nicht, weil die Übertragung hier einfach saumäßig ist und sich fast ausschließlich auf die US-Athleten konzentriert. Zu langweilig.

Fine vinterbilder og fuglebilder.
Noe store tradisjoner for karneval har vi ikke i Norge, men det er ofte karneval i barnehagene i forbindelse med fastelaven som vi feirer.
Vi har hatt en travel tid med å følge med på OL. det har vært kjempegøy.
Så er jeg så spendt på å se hvordan Quilten din blir???

AntwortenLöschenDet gleder meg å se at du har reparert vottene. Så hyggelig det var da vi hadde samstrikk! Vi har hatt mye snø og kulde i vinter, men nå er det mildvær. Jeg synes det er for tidlig. Mars måned pleier å være den fineste tida for skigåing. Været får vi ikke gjort noe med. Takk for tips om vottene.
