Jeg sydde en sommerkjole av et herlig linstoff og brukte den for første gang forrige helg...
til den sorbiske folkefesten i Lusatia i landsbyen Crostwitz. Festivalen varer i fire dager i forskjellige landsbyer... Jeg var der med hele familien på lørdag og søndag...
I sewed this linen summer dress for myself and wore it for the first time at the weekend. We spent Saturday and Sunday in the village of Crostwitz/Germany for the Sorbian folklore festival. It takes place over four days and every two years and folklore groups come from all over the world. It is a great festival with lots of joy and dancing and beautiful encounters.

From 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. there were programs of folklore groups from all over the world... Spain, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Congo, Serbia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Estonia, Chile and the groups from Crostwitz and the surrounding villages as well as the Sorbian National Ensemble from Germany.

We enjoyed the evening with dancing and good food in the festively decorated farms.

The festival is wonderful.
I'm already looking forward to the 15th festival in Crostwitz
from June 26th to 29th, 2025.

Looks like a great festival and one that you enjoyed, Viola. I have never been a fan of crowds and large gatherings, and I am quite sure that COVID isolation reinforced that. I am not sure whether I will ever get back into being with large numbers of people again. A walk in the woods is far more to my liking. Best wishes - David

Das ist ein wunderschönes Kleid, Viola! Und ich freute mich, dich zu sehen (ich nehme an, dass du es in den Photos bist, oder?). Was für ein schönes Folklore-Festival - die Unterröcke sind hochinteressant! Gab es auch typisches Essen der verschiedenen Regionen? Das finde ich auch immer sehr interessant.
