Still winter
I know many of you don't particularly like it, especially cold, gray and wet - I don't like that either - but now we have the snow, the sun and the blue sky here and that is celebrated - the beauty of winter is celebrated. And yes, I went skiing. I didn't take any photos, it was too cold for my hands. We are currently minus 11.5 degrees. So the photo is from a few years ago not far from my house... doesn't it look like in "Narnia" :-)) right behind the wardrobe... a dream. And I discovered another photo from this winter... so it was recorded quite a while ago too...
First I knitted the hat out of merino wool and later this wonderful skirt and I still wear it today... very comfortable in this cold now.
And I sewed something wonderful... I found photos of illusion patterns on the Internet - there are also a lot of knitting patterns, but I played with fabrics...
I'll show you the beginning to the beautiful result.
I will use it as a runner or wall hanging, I have yet to decide. I'm very happy... and here - for the sake of fairness - a current photo from the last weekend walk with my husband.

I don't mind the cold in preference to the heat. However, lack of entertainment optionality in wintertime can be a trouble

Viola, you are the true artist! Those illusion patterns are fantastic(I haven't seen anything quite like that) and your hat and skirt are fabulous. The snow photos are beautiful and I can see why you would enjoy these days. When my sister and her family lived in Norway, it was the same in the winter there. Snow was celebrated. You are so very talented, I really like the skirt, lovely and warm. Yes we are having real winter for the first time in a few years. Not really happy about not going out for walks. I'm older every year and this winter is extremely bitter cold. But I get my exercise feeding the birds, over and over all day long, hundreds hungry for sunflower seed. Enjoy your sewing time.

Years ago (in Norway), I knitted a poncho similar to your skirt. It had fringes too. I used it as poncho as well as skirt. I loved it! Love your new quilted item! Such fun pattern! Kjære Viola - først: beklager for mitt lange fravær i Blogglandia. Men her er jeg igjen. Og jeg er fremdeles imponert over skaperkraft og dyktighet, du er flink! Genseren og luen har et mønster som minner meg om en genser med mønster fra Lofoten som også har bølgemotiv. Om du vil, så kan jeg kopiere og sende til deg med post. Ellers er det litt rart at dere har vinter. I går kveld var jeg på et foredrag i Bø. Da jeg kjørte hjem, var det partier langs veien der det var + 10 grader!!! Og det er Vesterålen i februar, grunn til bekymring. På det kaldeste partiet på fjellet var det + 7... Jeg vil ønske deg en flott bursdag til uka, kos deg masse og hils. Klem

AntwortenLöschenJeg er enig med Oddi. Merkelig at dere har hatt det så kaldt mens vi har mildvær. Det er litt snø igjen i min hage, men veldig mye har smeltet. Nå starter VM på ski i Trondheim, og kanskje blir det regn i dag. Det er helt forferdelig!!!!

Ich finde auch, dass Winter zelebriert gehört, liebe Viola. Durch unsere Reisen weiß ich, wie toll und interessant Menschen aus heißen Ländern Schnee finden. Und nachdem ich Schnee in diesem Jahr nur hatte, weil wir ein paar Stunden weg von daheim Winterurlaub machten, weiß ich auch, wie sehr er mir abgehen kann, wenn er sich eine Saison lang gar nicht zeigt. (Aber, liebes Universum, versteh mich nicht falsch: JETZT freue ich mich, wenn es frühlingshaft bleibt.)

Hej, jag heter Nira. Jag var i ett förhållande med Anderson i flera år, men han gjorde slut med mig. Jag försökte allt jag kunde för att få tillbaka honom, men det var förgäves. Jag lovade alla jag känner som har problem med relationen att jag skulle hänvisa dem till den enda sanna och kraftfulla trollformaren som hjälpte mig med mitt problem.
