For the botanists among you, the spring snowflake blooms here in March - that's why it's also called March cup. The popular snowdrop is more common and blooms as early as February as the first herald of spring.
It is considered to be particularly protected and, according to the Red List, as endangered. We take a hike to the Märzenbecherwiesen in Polenztal/Saxon Switzerland/Germany every March...she prefers moist nutrient rich soil.
Det er en vakker fottur som fører over åsene inn i dalen langs little elven Polenz.
It is a beautiful hike that leads over the heights into the valley to the little river Polens.
And I put on one of my favorite sweaters... which I knit myself with ROWAN Merino Silk yarn. I love the pattern and the garn.
Greetings to you with this first violet I found.
Hug of Viola
...Viola, such beautiful early spring images. We have snowdrops in bloom, but we are waiting for other to start blooming. I love the view down the road. Take care and enjoy your week.
AntwortenLöschenBeautiful flowers! Love the sweater...

Snowdrops are such a welcome sign of spring, and I have a small clump in my backyard. I didn't plant them there so I assume they are a present from the squirrels. Yesterday there were four squirrels in my yard feeding on bird seed, so it's quite appropriate that they should bring a gift! Hugs from Ontario, Viola - David
AntwortenLöschenViola, your sweater is gorgeous! Such a lovely pattern you have knitted. Snowdrops are sweet little flowers. A beautiful sign that spring has arrived.
AntwortenLöschenThanks for leaving a comment on my blog, Viola. Your spring is more advanced than ours. We still have lots of snow but it's starting to feel like spring when the sun shine. The river is opened but I'm still waiting for the Robins to return.
AntwortenLöschenI like your beautiful sweater and the colors you chose. The green scenery of the rolling hills is gorgeous.
Happy Spring to you.
Happy spring. It is good to see flowers. Nice sweater, just the right thing for spring.
AntwortenLöschenWe await spring each year with such anticipation in the Midwest of the US. It will be weeks before we get to see wonderful colorful wildflowers. I have snowdrops like these that should come up each spring nearby in the woods!
AntwortenLöschenThank you for showing us your pretty spring flowers. Except for that one patch of snowdrops that I showed, there’s still only snow to be seen here.
AntwortenLöschenSå nydelig! Ser du gleder deg over våren.
The snowdrops and leucojum Spring flowers are lovely Viola. I hope you enjoyed your hike.
AntwortenLöschenYour jumper is lovely with the pattern across the centre. Also, pretty top on you last post. It will be just perfect for the warmer weather
Liebe Viola,
So traurig.
Liebe Grüße,
Mariette
Bonjour Viola,
Bonne semaine!
What a wonderful place for a walk and to see the gorgeous blooms. Thanks for taking us along. Love that sweater.
AntwortenLöschenBeautiful sweater and it looks so comfortable too.
AntwortenLöschenThe Spring flowers are lovely and very welcome.
Have a good week, Granny Marigold
Wonderful photos, and how lovely to find a violet. You hiked to lovely place and your pullover is fabulous. You look great! Hugs, Valerie
AntwortenLöschenWhat a wonderful hike you took us on, Viola! And thank you for sharing those Spring flowers. The common name of Leucojum vernum is "Lenteklokje" in Flemish, Lente being the Flemish word for Spring! xxx
AntwortenLöschenP.S. Forgot to mention that your sweater is absolutely gorgeous! xxx
AntwortenLöschenWhat a beautiful countryside. I would love to sit on that bench and enjoy nature. The flowers are absolutely beautiful to see. Love your sweater, it's very nice. Have a fantastic week, Viola.

AntwortenLöschenI think your sweater looks great.

All the best Jan
Wonderful snowflowers of early spring in the the middle of pure nature!! They are some of my most beloved flowers! You had a fine trip in this wide landscape. The sweater ist extrano! You are a knit-artist! Many greetings from Dori from the Bavarian Forest
AntwortenLöschenSo nice to see the lovely spring flowers. A beautiful place to walk.
AntwortenLöschenLove your sweater - great job.
Such a pretty thing to see is spring, just love the flowers.
AntwortenLöschenLike your jumper you knitted...I crocheted one a few years ago but too hot for me in winter so I gave it away, other people wear them.
Hej Viola!
Those snowflakes are just gorgeous! What a great walk and I love the jumper. xx
AntwortenLöschenLove the flowers and landscape. I can almost smell the grass and hear the birds singing. Beautiful country images.
AntwortenLöschenSpring is beginning to pop much earlier this year in my area. Spring is my favorite time of year. Everything is in flower, fresh and new. Gardening season is almost here. The onions and potatoes are in. The main garden will be in with the next few weeks.
Beautiful photos of lovely early spring flowers. A treat for my eyes as things are still white and will be for a while. That is a beautiful sweater and I was very impressed to read you knit it yourself. Clever lady! Happy wishes to you from me in Canada!
AntwortenLöschenthank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment..... I love the snowdrops... they look so pretty and such gorgeous views... and your jumper is lovely - I can imagine how snug it is in that yarn...

ÅÅÅÅ ser du har fått vår, nydelige blomster. Her ligger snøen i massevis rundt omkring, tror vi får sein vår iår. Klem fra meg
AntwortenLöschenThe flowers are beautiful, and it's always exciting to see the first flowers bloom and know the weather will keep improving!! Looks like a wonderful place to hike. Your sweater is fantastic, that could not have been an easy pattern, with all that color work. Lovely job!
AntwortenLöschenTakk for deilige vårtegn!
AntwortenLöschenThe Spring snowflake is a beautiful flower. There is also a Summer Snowflake here in the UK. Your sweater looks great!
AntwortenLöschenBest wishes
Ellie
AntwortenLöschenThese are beautiful little flowers. Your sweater is of a very nice pattern.
really beautiful flowers and landscapes but the sweater stole the show for me, it's gorgeous!! i am a knitter but i have never made a sweater. i hope to in the near future!!
AntwortenLöschenWhat pretty flowers. And such a pretty area for walking, hiking or doing photography. Beautiful
AntwortenLöschenHello Viola :=)
AntwortenLöschenIt's lovely countryside where you live, and I enjoyed seeing the beautiful Spring flowers that also grow wild on my property. You look cosy and warm in your gorgeous hand knitted sweater, but you won't have need of it soon, when the weather warms up and you can wear your lovely home made dresses,
All the best,
Beautiful flowers.
AntwortenLöschenhallo Viola. Nice to visit your blog. The snowdrops, several kinds, are blooming in Sweden as well. I love them :)
