Colorful fabrics
I was happily sewing in this rainy weather... nothing is nicer than playing with colors when it's gray and wet outside.
...it's really fun to put different fabrics and patterns together.
And I ordered because I wasn't entirely happy with my results... I bought a beautiful bright green, which I think fits wonderfully into this variety of colors.
Voilà.
There was a ray of sunshine in the sky, which I quickly took advantage of.
So the patchwork part is 1.40 m by 2.30 m - (it hangs double) next comes the sandwich (top, intermediate lining, backing fabric - which still needs to be chosen) quilting and the binding.
All I can say is hats off to the Quilters Guild - it's a lot of work.
It's been a lot of fun so far... I'll keep you updated - I have to find a suitable backing fabric first.
My UFO is also brought out - let's see what will be finished first :-)
There was also art and culture. I was at the Semperoper Dresden
in Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata. It was a wonderful production and I am very happy that I bought tickets for Tchaikovsky's ballet "Sleeping Beauty" for next week.
It's just heavenly.
Many greetings from Viola. I wish you a happy time.
Hug from me.
The production of Sleeping Beauty will be wonderful I am sure! How lovely your quilt looks! It is so vibrant and cheerful! You put in so much work! The fabric is so pretty as well!
AntwortenLöschen...I love your colorful quilt, I have collected several over the year. tThe Semperoper Dresden is a gorgeous building.Take care and stay warm and well.

Oh Viola, those fabrics are amazing -- such magnificent colors! And I love that patchwork, too. It's my favorite palette! I love that you used the green as the border and "section dividers." It really sets off the pinks and purples. And gorgeous night shot of the opera house.
AntwortenLöschenHello Viola, what an amazing collection of colors and patterns your decision to blend patterns and colors together produced beautiful results and I liked the owl too.
AntwortenLöschenAlso, thanks for your visit and comment on my blog. I have included a link to your blog on my sidebar so I can return for future visits and so that other bloggers may visit as well.
Your quilt is beautiful! I love the knitting on your needles. I wonder what it will be?
AntwortenLöschenThe quilt is fantastic, love the colours. And the Semper Oper is always wonderful! Enjoy your weekend, hugs, Valerie
Hilsen Tove/fargeneforteller

Hello Viola :=)
AntwortenLöschenWell done! You put such a lot of work into making the quilt, but it was worth it. I know you haven't quite finished it yet but what you have done so far is so beautiful. The green material pulls it all together perfectly.
You will enjoy Sleeping Beauty, I wish I was going with you. :=)The Dresden Opera House is a spectacular building and I love the photo taken at night.
All the best
Warm hugs
Sonjia.
It would be great if we went to “Sleeping Beauty” together,
Löschenthe places are in this time 2st rank, so above.
I took the photo of the opera house before the performance of La Traviata before we went in... even though it was raining, I quickly ran a bit to get the whole house in the picture... I love the opera house.
The other picture is the chandelier in the middle of the auditorium from my seat - parquet. Hug to you.
The bright fabrics in your beautiful quilt speak of spring and happiness. The green sets them off so well.
AntwortenLöschenWhat a beautiful opera house. Going there must be a real treat!
Dear Viola, the patchwork is very beautiful, you are really good at sewing. Unfortunately, I can't sew, but sometimes it would be nice to sew and knit as well.
AntwortenLöschenI'm glad you saw Traviata and you're going to see the Sleeping Beauty ballet too.
I drink my morning coffee and enjoy reading blogs. Yours too.
Have a nice weekend! Éva

Kjempefint teppe!

Fijne week, lieve groet Willy
You make wonderful handwork! You get energy from good culture -happenings! Many greetings from Dori from the Bavarian Forest
AntwortenLöschenThat quilt is absolutely stunning, Viola! I love all of the different colors and patterns. The green that you have used to join it with is the perfect color!
AntwortenLöschenViola, that quilt! So happy and upbeat and gorgeous! Wow I am impressed. I do not sew. Your cultural outings sound wonderful too. Best of everything to you as February segues into March! xoxo
AntwortenLöschenYour new quilt is beautiful and I love the green borders, so pretty. I'm looking forward to seeing your knitting.
AntwortenLöschenHave a great time at the 'Sleeping Beauty' ballet.
:-)
Dir alles Liebe - Carola

Hilsen Turid
Good work on a beautiful quilt
AntwortenLöschenYour fabrics are cheery.
Pillowcases are on the agenda here. I'm looking for uplifting fabric patterns like in your photos. Wish me luck. lol
Have a good weekend!
