celebrate festivals and take breaks
It was wonderful to ride the Ferris wheel - I was very happy.
I almost think this was the first time a Ferris wheel had been in Pulsnitz since recorded history.
And there was also a whole week of cultural programming in the town for the 800th anniversary celebration.
A medieval market, two large stages with a wide range of cultural programs. The streets were closed off, and there were delicious food options in the streets. I loved the bands in the evening and the coffee in the market square – the school students and kindergarten parents baked for it...

The whole festival week was so beautiful...
I'm taking a break from the computer and electronic devices, and with it, a blog break... out into nature and be creative. I'll definitely be back, because blogging is close to my heart.
As compensation, here are a few photos from the parade, which showcased clubs, culture, sports, and arts and crafts... I just got back from the parade... enjoy.

It must be the time for festivals. Yesterday in Kitchener, the South Asian community put on a giant festival centred mainly around food, but with music and dancing and other events too. I had a plate of little dumplings with a hot, spicy sauce and they were delicious! No Ferris wheel, though! Best wishes, Viola - David

Kjære Viola. Gratulerer med byjubileum og takk for mange fantastisk flotte bilder. Dette må ha vært utrollig artig! Pulsnitz er jo ingen stor by, så dette må hele byen ha lagt merke til og forhåpentligvis deltatt i. Jeg husker så godt første gang jeg var hos dere og la merke til at det luktet pepperkaker i byen midt på sommeren. For meg, som baker og spiser pepperkaker til jul, var dette en underlig opplevelse! Men blåmuggost og pepperkaker smaker nydelig sammen, og det kan jo til og med et menneske fra Norge spise året rundt. Fra forrige innlegg, så artig antrekk du har sydd - "spreke" bukser.
