These colors

this radiance of nature... it's so fascinating. 

I'm in the forest as often as possible - as if I were just always in the forest :-)) 

The birds in the garden are also happy about the autumn party.

At the same time I made cranberry jam and lots of apple pie...

They are the small berries that are found in Europe and especially in Norway... I also tried the large cranberries that come from the USA... super good... oh how nice, I'm happy.

My program does what it wants today - these font sizes cannot be adjusted at the moment... but I am still deeply relaxed with these wonderful days in the woods... 

I hope you're doing great too.

Seize the day. I have so many things I'm going to do... not now... now it's time for the fall dream.

Start of last vacation - Quilt - October bliss 

Who doesn't dream of flying! 

Well, we were traveling by car on our vacation, but we were very enthusiastic about visiting the Wasserkuppe, which is considered "the cradle of gliding".

We were already looking forward to the German Gliding Museum with model flights.  

It's also exciting to watch the planes take off on the 670 m long asphalt runway...

Just like the hang gliders and paragliders.

And last but not least, there is fantastic nature all around for hiking and relaxing.

 

Just beautiful.

Our next destination was the Eifel in Germany - Monreal and Monschau - the two ancient cities of cloth makers and wool crafts, which were based on the large herds of sheep. The half-timbered and quarry stone houses bear witness to the prosperity between the Thirty Years' War and the 19th century.

We had a meal in this small inn in Monschau 

and I ordered a real Belgian beer in anticipation of our next destination... before we hiked back to our accommodation.

Later BELGIUM - and now Quilt.

The binding is prepared and since there are so many corners, I sewed small coasters.

Aren't they funny :-)) 

I have more in the works :-)) and since the weather was so good there were some great hikes.

Yay, my top is quilted...

Yesterday I took a tour of the city

Dresden - Outer New Town

and opposite the "Kunsthofpassage" is the quilting workshop and I am so happy that I found it, Anke is a wonderful lady who is available to help and advise. Here is her work - long arm quilt...

As an insert I used a light needle-punched volume fleece made from 50% soy and 50% cotton, the back is combed cotton...

The sample fabric is the design of Tula Pink and the green in between is from Robert Kaufmann's collection... now it's time to bind... and yes, it is my very first large quilt... and my first binding. So see you later :-))

The waiting time for the quilt was shortened by our vacation...

We drove from east to south through all of Germany...

to Belgium and enjoyed the North Sea - the Atlantic Ocean.

We spent most of our vacation in England.

It was so beautiful. If you want to see some of it, I took more than 2000 photos... well, we were away for four weeks :-))
