I could walk around in the forest for hours... and the rapeseed fields are now blooming... heavenly colors.

I had a wonderful city day in Dresden with a visit to the Semper Opera. 

"Othello" the play by William Shakespeare from 1605. Othello, the general of Venice, knows war, but little else. He is not a man to marry; his military career completely occupies him. And he is so vulnerable because Shakespeare does not introduce any power that opposes Othello's adversary Iago.

Desdemona falls in love - despite this - with the war hero and he falls in love with her. But it is this love that will be his downfall.

This is the basis for Giuseppe Verdi's last opera, which premiered in Milan in 1887 with extraordinary success.

 I saw the opera in Italian on Sunday, it was a performance that premiered in 2017. It was very celebrated. 

I sat in row 6, which was particularly nice because the stage costumes were created by French couturier Christian Lacroix, so I had a particularly detailed view of them.

A galleon has reached Cyprus from Venice, so that we can experience the ladies and gentlemen of the opera choir as Venetians with their beautiful costumes in damask, velvet and brocade.

And when I went home, of course I thought about my time in Venice in July 2020...

 2 degrees - 35 F - today and a little sunshine

I didn't really want to dry this shirt, I wanted to take a photo for you :-)

I took advantage of the cold, wet time and read, spent a lot of time in the forest and sewed... 

I would like to show two things, this little bag that became a gift and the shirt that I sewed for myself in anticipation of the warm season.

There is usually no wind at the shed, which is where the photo was taken.

It was fun to sew the shirt and celebrate the anticipation of summer with this bright yellow :-)

April

After this dream weather at Easter and the last five days with up to 26 degrees, we returned to normal April temperatures of currently 9 degrees. There was also a lot of rain at night and that's a good thing because we want green nature.

So it's the right time to present my UFO project... my cardigan made of 9 thread cotton yarn, with needle sizes 4 and 5. 

Knitting the pattern from the left side is not my favorite, one of the reasons the jacket turned into a UFO.

But now ... oh comme c'est beau.

I will wear the jacket now until temperatures warm up again.

The lilac bush behind me is already so far ahead...

just like other blossoms on trees and garden flowers.

I baked several times - here quark cake with mango, delicious - and we had many picnics in nature. I feel like I've been outside the whole time :-))) in this wonderful weather we had.

I sewed with unusual materials - leather, magazine paper and foil... the result is this small bag with an inner lining.
