I gave away No. 3

These are my treasures... the middle one is No. 1 - I kept this one for myself - above is No. 2, which was also made as a 40th birthday present and below is No. 3, which I gave away this summer. 

For this project, I used exclusively Kaffe Fassett fabrics, which are characterized by their wonderful color palette.

The blanket was quilted again in Anke's quilt shop, I sewed the binding by hand. And here is all the splendor... I'm very happy.

 It's still summer

I finally have to come back. Summer is still here. We've had a lot of cool and rainy days this summer, and only a short period of these beautiful, mild summer evenings. You know those beautiful evenings when you sit in the garden with a glass of wine in your hand, listening to the crickets and if you're lucky there's a shooting star.

On these warm days we often went swimming in the nearby forest lake.

Well, this is the birdbath, and the garden birds use it very regularly for bathing. 

It's a joy for everyone involved.

In June we were in England—yes, we were in England again—and spent most of our vacation in Scotland. It was fantastic.

However, I was only able to wear the summer clothes I had brought with me in Bavaria/Germany – in the Rhön region.

The vacation was still fantastic.

Back home, there were wonderful gatherings with family and friends, wonderful fruits in the garden... and yes, baking the delicious cakes - I love it.

There were also a few hikes and a bit of city life... strolling through the city... and above all, there was sewing on the sewing machine – again now. And more about that, my dears, in the next post.

celebrate festivals and take breaks

It was wonderful to ride the Ferris wheel - I was very happy.

I almost think this was the first time a Ferris wheel had been in Pulsnitz since recorded history.

And there was also a whole week of cultural programming in the town for the 800th anniversary celebration.

A medieval market, two large stages with a wide range of cultural programs. The streets were closed off, and there were delicious food options in the streets. I loved the bands in the evening and the coffee in the market square – the school students and kindergarten parents baked for it...

The whole festival week was so beautiful...

I'm taking a break from the computer and electronic devices, and with it, a blog break... out into nature and be creative. I'll definitely be back, because blogging is close to my heart.

As compensation, here are a few photos from the parade, which showcased clubs, culture, sports, and arts and crafts... I just got back from the parade... enjoy.
