Binding
Crafting is a very beautiful thing. For those of you who remember, I bought some short, thin, high-quality needles, and it's a pleasure to sew with them... I'll show you this and that, what else I did, and finally, the finished quilt... and I'm listening to Ed Sheeran as I write this to you :-)) wonderful songs...
Although it was cold, there were one or two city days with a fabric market...
My selection - JOY.
After a hot lemon and Saxon potato soup—because it was so cold—I climbed the castle's Hausmann Tower. These magnificent spiral staircases never cease to amaze me...
The king had this passage to the cathedral built...

As always, Viola, you are busy with many different things, and enjoying life. It remains cold here too and hot soup is always welcome. The woodlands flowers have not made much of a show yet, other than Colt’s Foot. Most of the others are barely poking above the ground. We will have to be patient! All the best - David
AntwortenLöschenLovely post!
AntwortenLöschenWhat a beautiful post. I love hand stitching and yours is spectacular. The architecture, too. Flowers. What more could we ask.
AntwortenLöschenThe quilt is lovely. I do like embroidered fabrics, your market looks to be very good.
AntwortenLöschenYour quilt is beautiful. All those lovely fabrics to choose from, I would have had a hard time selecting just a few. I do like the ones you chose.
AntwortenLöschenAs always your photos are spectacular and I enjoyed visiting.
Soup. I should order some. It’s a package with more of the ingredients, and the recipes are easy.
AntwortenLöschenI'm glad the needles are working well for you, your quilt is lovely! Thank you for the tour of the cathedral, we don't have beautiful buildings like that here in the US, at least in my area we don't. All the flowers looks so nice. I do have a few daffodils blooming and the crocuses bulbs I planted last fall are blooming! Have a blessed week!
Hilsen Marit
It's always nice to have good needles for stitching.
AntwortenLöschenThanks for taking me along for your tours and some beautiful flowers.
I love tulips...
Lovely quilt finish and have fun making the next one.
A beautiful and interesting post. The fabrics are lovely and colourful and I love the tower and building details also the views. Wood Anemones and tulips, two of my favourite Spring flowers:)
AntwortenLöschen...Viola, I wish you a colorful spring!
AntwortenLöschenWhat beautiful buildings you have shown us....I love the hand sewing of binding.
AntwortenLöschenHello Viola :)
AntwortenLöschenYour hand crafted quilt is lovely- Nice signs of spring with flowers, butterfly and birds. The cathedral is spectacular, thank you for sharing it.
All the best

Those fabrics in the fabric market are so pretty. If I were there I would buy too many, I'm sure.
AntwortenLöschenHej Viola!
AntwortenLöschenDu gör så fina handarbeten. Härligt med vitsipporna, vårblommor är så efterlängtade. Fina bilder från katedral och slott.
Hälsningar Marika
You are very talented at sewing! I used to do those handsewn bindings with my Grandmother. She sewed amazing things on her old Singer Pedal machine. I learned to sew on that also.
AntwortenLöschenYour woodland flowers are beautiful! We should start to see them soon here too!
Oh the green fabric with the multicolored flowers on it? Wow! I'd love to have something like that in a large pillow on my couch. It is so cheery!
Beautiful stitching you do! Love those sewing clips. How handy!
AntwortenLöschenThat staircase--wow! And the clockwork was amazing, too. Beautiful flowers. What a lovely area. :)
Your posts are always fantastic. You're a multidisciplinary artist whose work has a special touch.

Saludos Cordiales
The fabric market sounds exciting, and how stunning is the Hausmann Tower! Seeing the first of the spring flowers is always a delight. Wood anemones are one of my favourites! And, last but not least: your finished quilt is absolutely fabulous! xxx
Wunderbar. Genieße es weiterhin.
AntwortenLöschenI just loved everything in your post.
AntwortenLöschenThank you.
Enjoy your weekend.
All the best Jan

Love handstitching the binding of a quilt! Your quilt is beautiful, the colours are so beautiful.

Your outdoor meal looks delicious, Viola. It's still a bit chilly to eat outdoors here, but I look forward to the day we can. I''m so glad you found good needles for the quilt binding. Such lovely colours. And oh, the fabrics - I love fabric stores! A blessed Palm Sunday to you.
Beautiful post and photos. The quilt is lovely, gorgeous view of the tower. I like the heron and the duck. Take care, have a wonderful week!
AntwortenLöschenBeautiful blog
AntwortenLöschenPlease read my post
AntwortenLöschenBeautiful quilt. Lovely to see a finish.
Dear Viola, such beautiful photos, and the view and that gorgeous quilt - spring offers an armful of joy, and it is our pleasure to notice it.
AntwortenLöschenA stunning photo of the butterfly with violets!
You have so much power: to sew is a lot of work (and joy) - and binding not easy. And you managed to use the word in more than one sense - binding a bunch of beautiful spring attributes. Thank you!
Vakre bilder igjen Viola!
Gracias y besos.
AntwortenLöschenYour quilt is lovely and I like the colours you have used. It looks like a beautiful Spring design. Thank you for sharing the photos of all the wonderful buildings you visited and that spiral staircase is amazing.
Viola -- an important message. I received an email from an address that was familie barwitzki@gmail.com and replied, thinking it was you. Turns out, someone has stolen your email identity (and now mine -- even though this might not be your real address). There is a message about it on my blog. Already, several of my blog buddies have received a fake email from me, but it was the same sentence, emojis, everything. Just wanted to give you a head's up in case you need to change anything on your end. ~ jeanie
AntwortenLöschenThis address does not belong to me. It's very unfortunate that fake emails are often circulating and people try to profit from them.

What lovely colours there are in your quilt. One does become obsessed doesnt one?!
AntwortenLöschenWonderful post
AntwortenLöschenHello Viola,
AntwortenLöschenFunny post and so great to see that you have quite a few activities.
The pictures of that cathedral are so nice. A wonderful view of that high place. Very well done.
Many greetings and happy easter,
Marco
Viola thank you for stopping by to visit me. Your quilts are lovely and all your photos beautiful. I am so fond of the sweet violets. They are blooming in my part of the world too. Hope you had a wonderful Easter...Hugs!
AntwortenLöschenYour quilt turned out so good! I used to be really into it, but unfortunately work has picked up so I haven't been able to spend as much time working on things. I'll need to set some time aside around work to get back into it because this makes me want to finish my work in progress. The photos are amazing as well! They make me want to visit to see it in person! Thanks so much for sharing!
AntwortenLöschenIt’s so inspiring to see how much joy crafting brings you! The high-quality needles must make a huge difference in the experience, and I’m sure that quilt is going to be stunning. I love how you mixed in a little bit of travel with the visit to the fabric market and climbing the Hausmann Tower. The views from the tower must have been amazing, especially with the fascinating architecture of the castle and cathedral. Plus, Saxon Switzerland sounds like an incredible place to hike – that Lilienstein view looks like it’s worth every step! And Ed Sheeran’s music definitely adds a perfect touch to your creative moments!

It is lovely to see spring in your part of the world, just as our trees are losing their leaves ready for winter. Thanks for sharing photos of the stunning buildings in your area. So much older than anything we have over here.
AntwortenLöschenMany beautiful images.
AntwortenLöschenI liked the fabrics and the details
of these churches or cathedrals.
Have a good continuation of the week.
Janice.
Good evening. Thank you for your visit and comment. I created Blogger to show that Brazil and Rio de Janeiro are not just about violence, football and carnival. I post on Blogger places in the Brazilian states that I had the opportunity to visit.
AntwortenLöschenI show beaches, waterfalls, historic cities, forts and fortresses, cultural centers and paintings and crafts by Brazilian artists. Since I read that you like nature, I invite you to visit some Brazilian beaches, waterfalls and National Parks, State Parks, Municipal Parks, the Cave Circuit of the state of Minas Gerais, such as the Lapinha, Rei do Mato and Maquiné Caves and the Mineral Water Parks, which I posted about in the city of Caxambu, Minas Gerais and now I will post about Mineral Water Parks in three cities: São Lourenço, Cambuquira and Lambari, words that you may not know in your daily life. It's been almost six years as a Blogger, wandering a little about Brazil. Welcome and I hope you enjoy it, and have the opportunity to get to know a little more about Brazil. Thank you very much and I take this opportunity to wish you a great May.
Wonderful 2nd quilt finish!!! Loved all the photos, too!!! I'm looking forward to quilt number 3!!!
AntwortenLöschenWhat a lovely quilt, you are very talented!
AntwortenLöschenA reportagem está bela e encantadora.
AntwortenLöschenObrigada.
Bom fim de semana.
